Symphony North of Houston is pleased to announce is 2022-2023 Season Repertoire. The concert dates are October 16 and December 4, 2022. February 19, April 2, and May 14 are the dates in 2023. Additional information can be found at this link: 2022-2023 Season.
The October 16th and December 4th concerts will be conducted by Symphony North’s guest conductor Carlos Lara. The October 16th / Fall Concert will be featuring Wagner’s Prelude to Act III, Lohengrin, Marquez’s Danzon No. 2, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. This concert will also be honoring Marie Winton Rogoff, who retired from Symphony North’s board of directors after 34 years of service as a playing member and board member. At Symphony North’s annual meeting on May 16, 2022, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The December 4th / Christmas Concert will also be conducted by Mr. Lara and will feature Richard Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Tchaikovsky’s selections from The Nutcracker Suite, and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concert No. 2.

The February 19th and April 2nd concerts will be conducted by Symphony North’s guest conductor Dr. Karl Blench. The February 19th / Winter Concert will be featuring Hérold’s Overture to Zampa, Prokofiev’s Piano Concert No. 1, and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (New World). This concert will also be honoring Karla Marchell, who retired from Symphony North’s board of directors after 21 years of service as a playing member and board treasurer. At Symphony North’s annual meeting on May 16, 2022, she received a Symphony North Retirement Award.
The April 2nd / Early Spring Concert will also be conducted by Dr. Blench and will feature a new work by Dr. Blench, Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, and another work to be determined.

The 2022-2023 season will round out the final concert on May 14, 2023, featuring winners of our 2022-2023 Young Artist Competition.
