Symphony North of Houston Announces Early Spring Concert and Gala

Symphony North of Houston invites the community to an unforgettable Early Spring Concert and Gala on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball. This special event will be more than an afternoon of music—it will also be a celebration of community, artistry, and the orchestra’s 50th anniversary season, marking the penultimate concert of the year.

Admission is by donation. Donations will be accepted at the performance, and patrons may also give online through Symphony North’s donation page.

This year’s concert will feature Will Martin as guest soloist, a respected trombonist, composer, and Cypress resident whose work spans symphonic, jazz, salsa, and Afro-Cuban traditions. Under the baton of Dr. Karl Blench, audiences will experience the world premiere of Martin’s original composition, Convergence, a vibrant work that blends influences from jazz, Afro-Cuban, and Spanish musical styles into an uplifting symphonic finale.

Martin’s appearance reflects Symphony North of Houston’s commitment to showcasing innovative and community-centered artistry. His wide-ranging musical background—from early classical and jazz training to professional performance and composition across multiple regions of the country—makes him a compelling featured artist for this celebratory spring performance. The program promises an afternoon that honors both musical excellence and the creative spirit of the greater Houston community.

Adding to the excitement, the gala portion of the event will include a silent auction opening March 19 and closing just after intermission on March 22, and on-site raffle opportunities. Guests will also be able to enjoy light refreshments during intermission, including desserts provided by Whistle Stop Tea Room, while browsing auction items and joining in the festivities.
