Bryant Li

Bryant Li, age 12, 7th grader at Beckendorff Junior High in Katy, TX. He started piano at age 6 with Mr. John Weems. His musical accomplishments span numerous awards in area and state competitions, including:

Symphony North Young Artist Concerto Competition – 2nd (2017), 2017 MTNA Piano Competition Texas Junior Piano Division – Alternate (2017), Blinn College Young Pianists Competition – Grand Prize Winner as well as First Place in 5th – 6th grade (2016, 2017); Texas State University Young Pianist Competition – First Place in 5th ~ 6th grade (2016, 2017); Clear Lake Youth Concerto Competition Junior Piano Division– 1st Place (2016); Southern Chopin The Second International Plano Competition – 1st Place (2017), Rochelle Liebling Kahan Memorial Fund Competition for Child Piano Prodigies – 1st Place (2014); Houston Forum for Young Artist Competition at University of Houston – 1st Place (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017). He has been awarded the title of Houston Young Artist (2015-2016, 2017-2018), and performed in various HYAC outreach concerts. Bryant is also a proud Music Doing good scholarship recipient for 2016 and 2017.

Bryant was chosen by NPR’s “From the Top” program for Recording #321 and a performance at the Clarion Music Performance Center in Lake Jackson, TX (Mar-16).

Bryant co-founded Music Doing Good volunteering team and later founded Music of Harmony (MOH) – a non-profit organization. This volunteering team now has over 180 students, 16 team leaders and presented over 70 volunteer performances and outreach concerts in Senior Homes, Memory Care Facilities in Katy and Sugarland areas, Houston Methodist West Hospital, and Kawai Piano Gallery.

Outside music, Bryant is also a member of the highly competitive school science Olympiad team, as well as math and science teams. Bryant wishes to major in both neuroscience and music, and bring the sensations and happiness of music to the public, and utilize music to aid in healing for patients.
